Farewell after a decade: DIVES disband at the end of 2025 - last singles, tour and big farewell concert in Vienna
After ten years together as a band, the Viennese indie rock band DIVES will disband at the end of 2025. With the release of the single "Invisible" - a tribute to the band Luise Pop, also from Siluh Records- the Viennese indie rock formation heralds the end of their ten-year band history. Before that, however, the three musicians - Dora de Goederen (drums), Tamara Leichtfried (guitar, vocals) and Viktoria Kirner (bass, vocals) - will bid a fitting farewell to their audience: after a few last concert dates in the summer, the band has announced a final single for the fall as well as a farewell tour through Austria and Germany and a big final concert on December 3, 2025 in the Arena Wien (Great Hall).
10 years of alliance - DIVES say goodbye:
What began in 2015 at the Pink Noise Camp, a music week for women, inter*, trans and non-binary people, as a spontaneous DIY project with no prior musical knowledge, has taken us to places over the years that we would never have dared to dream of: We have played over 200 concerts in 19 different countries inside and outside Europe, supported or toured with bands like Courtney Barnett, Franz Ferdinand, L.A. Witch, Bilderbuch or AnnenMayKantereit and played at numerous international festivals and showcases, such as Eurosonic (NL), The Great Escape (UK), Reeperbahn Festival (GER) or Viva Sounds (SWE). In addition to shows at numerous international open airs and in clubs, we have also been able to establish ourselves in sought-after venues in the local music scene and play sold-out concerts at the Wiener Konzerthaus, the WUK, the Radiokulturhaus and the Porgy&Bess. In addition to a live session for the US station NPR (World Café), the most important moments in our band's history were probably our participation in one of the largest music festivals in Latin America, the Cervantino International and the associated tour through Mexico in 2023, as well as our concerts in New York as part of the New Colossus Festivasl 2025.
Despite all the highlights, this path has not always been easy. Over the past ten years, we have grown up as three very different characters in this band, laughed together, cried together, changed together, grown together and merged into a strong unit. After years of intensive collaboration, however, our personal and musical paths have diverged and compromises became increasingly difficult towards the end - especially against the background of the economic realities that many artists are confronted with and which we cannot omit in this mailing:
Tours and concerts where fees barely cover the costs. Fees that have been stagnating for years. Remuneration from streaming platforms that do not provide a livelihood, venues that are less and less able to book independent acts due to rising operating costs and changing audience behavior, and an industry that is almost insatiable in terms of expected artistic output. Against this backdrop, DIVES became increasingly financially unsustainable for us. We ran the project for a decade alongside our jobs, studies and care work - with love, dedication and passion, but often on the verge of self-exploitation and within structures that put us, not least as FLINTA people, under social and economic pressure - for example due to a lack of social security and pension provision or difficult family planning. It is therefore time for us to open new chapters.
However, we don't want to disappear in silence, but want to celebrate everything we have experienced together with you once again. Our final tour will not be a nostalgic look back, but an exuberant farewell full of our favorite songs - for us and for you.
The big final concert in the Arena Wien on December 3 will be our last - and we cordially invite you all to make this evening unforgettable with us.
Tickets for our farewell tour are available now
Thank you to everyone who has supported the DIVES project over the last few years - thank you to our label, our booking team, our tour companions, sound engineers and producers. Thank you to the radio and TV stations that have regularly played our music ... and of course above all: thank you to all the people who have listened to our songs and attended our live performances. Thank you for your messages, your faces and voices in the audience and your friendship. Without you, DIVES would never have existed.
Let's make it count - for ten years of music, friendship and moments that will last.
