Slow Club Freiburg presents: DIVES + NAIVE ULTRA

After ten years together as a band, the Viennese indie rock formation DIVES will disband at the end of 2025!

Before that, however, the three musicians - Dora de Goederen (drums), Tamara Leichtfried (guitar, vocals) and Viktoria Kirner (bass, vocals) - will bid their audience a fitting farewell.

And of course we won't miss the opportunity to invite the trio to perform with us one last time. DIVES, we will miss you!

With the release of the single "Invisible" - a tribute to the band Luise Pop, also from Siluh Records- the Viennese indie rock formation heralds the end of their ten-year band history.

DIVES announce their last tour dates and look back on the band's history - in an official statement with memories of concert highlights and the courageous, euphoric start without a plan or idea of where this journey would take them.

I am invisible | I walk through the streets | And noboby notices

No longer invisible and unknown, back to the beginning at the end: rehearsal room instead of studio, exchanging musical inspirations, metronome in the corner, amps at full volume, a screaming chorus of letters - and the DIY recording is finished. A self-confident, bumpy garage sound with a healthy dose of irony and fun in music.

A surf guitar twist and familiar two-part vocals give the cover a clear DIVES touch and are reminiscent of the light-footed early releases ("DIVES" EP 2017 / "Teenage Years Are Over" LP 2019).

A nostalgic statement that not coincidentally also honors the great Viennese band Luise Pop. The former Siluh band led by Vera Kropf often soundtracked the DIVES tour bus and now "Invisible" is available in another version as a soundtrack for road trips.

With every band story that comes to an end, the next one begins somewhere else.

NAIVE ULTRA is an experimental indie pop collective around Luca Hann based in Basel and Freiburg im Breisgau that has been around since 2023.

The name stands for radical vulnerability and the attempt to counter a rationally exuberant world.

In addition to songwriter and singer Luca Hann, Lea Kaya (harp), Michael Prior (guitar), Katharina Hunger (bass) and Thomas Johnsen (drums) are part of the collective.

Contrasts are an important creative tool:
The delicate, often polyphonic vocals with their associative song lyrics meet an eclectic sound that occasionally oscillates between earthy grunge and stoner rock elements as well as electronic-psychedelic influences.

Together with the highly visual imagery of the lyrics, the listener is easily transported into the imaginative, melancholic sphere of NAIVE ULTRA.

NAIVE ULTRA celebrated their debut in 2023 with the "Coming of Age" album Honest But Unclear.

Now their second release follows with the EP DISILLUSIONS.

This deals with the experience of illusions being exposed as such.

In particular, it questions the idealization of the romantic heteronormative relationship, which many people have despaired of for several generations and which prevents them from freely living out other concepts.

The sound is more electronic and, thanks to Luca's occasionally pitched down and distorted voice, more dystopian.

There is even a pop ballad on the EP, These Illusions.

Nevertheless, the collective remains true to its indie (rock) style, which should become clear with Gimino and FAUST at the latest.
