In Colombia, Doctor Krapula are like the Toten Hosen and the Ärzte together in Germany (no offense). In their home country, the band has already played in front of 280,000 fans, just to put a number on the stadium. Over the course of their career, they have been nominated for the Latin Grammy five times and have won numerous awards. Not least the prize of the Colombian National Congress as the highest honor for their commitment and activities in the environmental sector. Such success with this type of music is probably only possible in Latin or South America, but a steadily growing following has also been forming in this country for some years now. And rightly so: Doctor Krapula are in the good tradition of bands such as Panteon Rococo, Karamelo Santo or Mad Caddies. Add to this soccer choirs à la Los Calzones and you have a mestizo mix with Hammond organ. Of course, "Arte es resistencia", the new album by Doctor Krápula, also offers an impressive and highly political mix of styles between punk, cumbia, ska, hip hop and reggae, and the band puts on a more than impressive show, especially live. They call it the art of resistance.
