"DoggyDay" is held on the first Friday of every month. On these afternoons, dogs on a lead and their well-behaved owners have the opportunity to explore the museum's permanent exhibition from 2 pm to 6 pm.
In addition, archaeologist and dog lover Wolfgang Heuschen takes visitors on a "doggy tour" . At 4 p.m. , they will then go on a "search for traces of man's oldest friend" through the museum's permanent exhibition.
Participants will receive answers to questions such as "Since when have there been reliable bone finds of dogs? How can early dogs be identified archaeologically? Where did they come from and what do genetic studies reveal? How did people deal with dogs in the various periods of human history and what functions did they have in people's lives?"
Participation costs 3 euros plus admission per person and per dog.
