IN THE PRESENCE OF THE DIRECTOR
Hundreds of letters full of self-painted pictures and solidarity were withheld from the families of the victims of the racist arson attack in Mölln for years. Only thirty years later do the survivors learn of the existence of the letters and are accompanied by Martina Priessner's precise camera on their search for the truth. Mölln Letters is a poignant plea for a living culture of remembrance, which succeeds in placing victims and survivors at the center of attention through its visual minimalism.
