Don Mendo Cuarteto - Flamenco, Fado, Latin, Jazz, World

The Don Mendo Cuarteto takes the audience on a chilled and groovy journey from Bremen to Andalusia to Brazil, Mexico and Cuba...

Bremen guitar virtuoso Tim Schikoré and his long-standing duo partner, Andreas Stodte, together with Lisbon-born singer José dos Santos and highly accomplished percussionist Maximillian Suhr, deliver an exciting mixture of modern and traditional flamenco, fado and Latin jazz with the Don Mendo Cuarteto, presenting it at the highest technical level, pure, authentic and full of spirit.
Schikoré describes his repertoire, which consists of his own compositions as well as original arrangements of well-known titles, as "Spanish World Music made in Bremen".

The flamenco trade magazine ANDA praised: "Schikoré's guitar playing possesses sophisticated technique and rhythm and this is the foundation of his cheeky and modern compositions". The "Schwarzwälder Bote" wrote: "...his music contains the attitude to life of entire nations".
Most recently, Schikoré worked as a guitarist in the musical production "Zorro" (at the Stadttheater Bremerhaven) and as musical director and composer for the musical "Der Froschkönig" at the Landesbühne Niedersachsen.
Since 2003 he has been a regular lecturer for flamenco guitar and ukulele at the International Zeven Guitar Week and is currently working on a new album.
