Singer-Songwriter Afro Fusion

Duutop Acoustic is a young aspiring musician from Bagamoyo, Tanzania, living in Cologne, Germany. He was born in 1987 and has been fascinated by music since his early childhood. He learned traditional music and dance under the direction of Mzee Digalu in the group Mtema Lugodi from 1998 -2000.

He writes his own music under the name Duutop Acoustic and it is a mixture of traditional African music and modern sounds. His lyrics are about love, peace and grievances in his home country and around the world. His message is Kulu Kulu Africa. Which means, wake up Africa. He wants to use his music to wake up politicians and people living together and remind them that we are all equal and should live together peacefully in one world.

He has played concerts at the Mitafrika Festival Cologne, the Afrika Tage Düsseldorf, in the Lichtung and at the Barrington Cologne. His music was heard on Cosmo Radio in 2019. International appearances in the Ivory Coast, Kenya, the Netherlands and Hungary broadened his artistic horizons.
