Angus Stone, who doesn't just write songs here, but creates entire worlds. For almost a decade, Stone has been gliding under this name through a parallel universe to the folk-pop of his celebrated sibling duo Angus & Julia Stone.

Where clear structures, melodies for wide fields and mainstream suitability dominate there, twilight reigns with Dope Lemon: lo-fi instead of high gloss, slacker attitude instead of cleanliness, trip instead of destination. Lovingly enraptured music that doesn't impose itself on the listener, but beguiles in passing - like a summer's day that just doesn't want to end. With the new album "Golden Wolf", which will be released on May 2nd, Dope Lemon takes off again. This time in an imaginary seaplane whose interior smells of sun-soaked cedar wood. The destination is a hacienda on the edge of a forgotten desert, where every door leads to a different time. The rocking, breezy title track was released at the end of 2024, but it is the second single that fulfills the album's promise: a sultry, grooving piece of psychedelic soul that Angus Stone himself compares to a "lucid dream". A song full of contradictions: wild and reserved, thirsty for freedom and melancholy, between neon and shadow, between ecstasy and grounding. The songs on "Golden Wolf" continue to sound like typical Dope Lemon pieces, but freer, more windswept, more open. Anyone who gets involved with the album will find themselves in a place where time passes more slowly, somewhere between the desert sands and the midnight sea.

The last album, "Kimosabè", was already a deep look, a road trip and a retrospective at the same time. "Golden Wolf", on the other hand, is a departure - a flight forward, without haste, without certainty, but full of sensuality. Dope Lemon stands for the courage to break with style - and for a musical concept that continues to unfold with every album. Since the debut "Honey Bones" (2016), Stone's parallel universe has been growing steadily, sometimes glittering and sun-drenched, sometimes dark and lost in dreams. With albums such as "Smooth Big Cat" (2019), "Rose Pink Cadillac" (2022) and the successful "Kimosabè" (2023), he has gained a loyal fan base worldwide, especially in Germany, where tours are often sold out early. In the fall of 2025, Dope Lemon is finally coming back to Germany live for five concerts that promise more than just music. Those who attend will leave everyday life behind. And maybe even themselves.
