Between journey and arrival, in the eternal in-between of the nightly highway service station, a strange collision occurs: a truck driver longing for home, Rolf from the insurance company waiting for the next damage event, the actress Jayne, herself a former accident victim, and Beate, the enigmatic gas station operator, meet. However, their musings about accidents as a way of starting over turn into a weird thriller when a frozen corpse turns up. What are Jayne and Beate up to? And can Rolf get to the bottom of the suspicious accumulation of accidents in the so-called "death curve", or is he plunging himself into ruin?

In DOSENFLEISCH, award-winning Austrian author Ferdinand Schmalz writes about wounds and the desire to break out of the capitalist system. The young director Lidia Polito stages this comical, eloquent highway drama in the freight containers of the Grotte, Schauspiel Köln's smallest venue.

NOTE: DOSENFLEISCH deals with traffic accidents and scenes of violence and abuse, which are also staged at certain points.
