DOWNTOWN BLUES BUZZ - Blues | Jazz | Soul
was formed almost 25 years ago as the house band for the jam session in the Glockenbachwerkstatt in Munich, which is still running successfully today and is considered one of the most popular blues sessions in Munich. The repertoire is based on classic Chicago blues, but has been expanded over the years to include some "jazzy and soulful" tracks.
Blues cannot be "covered" and so the Downtown B.B. has also found its own unmistakable sound, characterized by Marc Tepelmann's Hammond organ and piano sounds and Robby Goldzahn's blues guitar.
The band performs songs by Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Willie Dixon, Stevie Wonder, Chris Rea, Robert Johnson, Fats Domino, B.B. King, Booker T. & the MG's, Eric Clapton, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and many more. The original compositions fit seamlessly into the show.
