A good 50 years ago, "wildcat" strikes were initiated by migrants at Ford in Cologne and Pierburg in Neuss. They rebelled against the racist, sexist wage system and exploitative working conditions. Deniz Yılmaz is part of the resistance. Deniz is a role model, colleague, ally, friend, mother or grandfather. Deniz is a fictional character, created from the experiences and stories of the ensemble. Deniz is young and old. Deniz arrives and departs. Deniz loves and misses, is rebellious and conforms, fails and wins.
An intergenerational ensemble sets out with the audience in search of this fictional character. What has happened since the strikes and what does protest look like today? During a performative walk across the Carlswerk site, they talk about memories and resistance, about the courage to rebel, about solidarity and the longing to arrive.

Director Saliha Shagasi brings together players from all the Spielklubs and DIE LÜCKE 2.0 with contemporary witnesses of the spontaneous strikes in 1973 and residents of Mülheim.

The play will be performed in German and partly also in Turkish.

NOTE: DRAHTSEILAKT / CAMBAZ GÖSTERİSİ takes place mostly outside. There is a 1.5 km walk across the Carlswerk site, which is accessible but not barrier-free.
In the production, experiences around the topic of racism are described and suicide is addressed.
