YOUR FIRST POTTERY COURSE
Turning ceramics on the wheel and glazing

Our 3-date course of 3 hours each on the wheel offers beginners the unique opportunity to learn how to make pottery on the wheel and glaze.

After a short introduction, you will immediately sit down at the potter's wheel in this pottery course.
In level 1, you will learn how to center the clay and make a vessel.
You will also be taught how to "break up" the clay and "raise" the walls. You will trim your first vessels and get to know engobes.

In the course with a maximum of five participants at the wheel, you will receive intensive supervision from two trainers to make four to six simple vessels such as mugs and bowls on the potter's wheel. It is also possible to attach handles.

3 dates: 18.00 - 21.00 hrs

On the 1st date you will be familiarized with the wheel, learn how to centre, break open, form walls and turn vessels.
On the 2nd date you will turn the vessels. Trimming the vessels means that the vessel shape is refined and perfected.
At the 3rd appointment (2 weeks later), you will glaze the vessels. You will have a selection of glazes to choose from. You will learn how to refine vessels with brushes or by dipping and pouring with glaze. This will make your vessels safe for everyday use with food and for the dishwasher.
