Learn how to master the contrasts in black and white photography and take control of the contrast scale. Starting with the selection of the right negative for the subject, professional chemistry handling, the production of contact prints through to the correct use of gradation control in print, you will learn everything you need to produce perfect black and white enlargements.

Post-exposure, dodging and variable contrast are terms that you will encounter in this workshop and that will help you to achieve the optimum result. You will learn how edge design and creative effects influence your image when enlarging and make your results more effective. Enlargement on baryta paper and subsequent further processing will enable you to produce impressive prints that will last. Whether for the wall or your own portfolio!

You should already have exposed a few black and white films yourself and ideally also developed them yourself in order to understand how you can produce a brilliant black and white print with the right know-how. Our B&W lab taster course is a good preparation for this course.

Please bring your own black and white negatives to the course. Whether small, medium or large format. Material costs are included in the value of 45,- Euro!
