The Sahara - an arid desert as big as the USA and yet with a magical attraction. For Wolfgang Büscher, it was an image that triggered the desire to travel to this special place: A hermitage far from the world on a high plateau, built by a desert saint who many thought was mad and who became a friend of the Tuareg. "Ahaggar, Ajjer, Erg Admer" - these names sounded like a magic spell to Büscher - and the magic worked: once again, the famous travel reporter ("Berlin - Moscow", "Hartland" and others) has set out to discover the beauty of the world - and to write about it: "Der Weg: Eine Reise durch die Sahara" (dtv). On this evening, he takes us into the terra deserta, with text and images and musical accompaniment from the Ghanaian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Adjiri Odametey, about whom the Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote: "His music can be addictive."
