DWNS#61: Explain Colours + Flora Chroma + Headempty

Here we go again! 🎉The first concert in our "they just want to play" series for this year is coming up and these bands will be there:

@explaincolours "A folding table, three synthesizers and lots of cables," is how Hannes, Malte and Robin, the trio behind the electropop band Explain Colours from Münster, describe themselves. The three guys have been producing and performing unprecedented synth hits such as "HEATWAVES" and "motion picture" since the beginning of 2023, always with the aim of surprising and inspiring their growing audience. In their current projects, the trio is giving a new twist to the 80s pop of the disco era; nostalgia-inducing dancing is pre-programmed for their latest live set. In short:
Explain Colours is just as difficult to grasp musically as colors are philosophically. Both
you simply have to experience both.

@flora_chroma_ play guitar-heavy energy indie that fans of Placebo, DIIV and early Coldplay would also celebrate, weaving elements from a wide variety of styles into their own signature style. Thematically, their lyrics move between rom-com and coming-of-age drama. Their musical language is both recognizable and multifaceted. After a series of sold-out concerts in her hometown of Cologne, her first EP "Elliptical Patterns" will be released in January 2025.

@theheadempty Founded in 2021 by singer and multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Rous, the band "Headempty" captivates with dreamy melodies, hanging rhythms and nostalgic synth sounds. Inspired by old records, Headempty ventured onto the music market in October 2021 and released their debut EP "When The Lights Go Out". The second EP "and you watch" followed in February 2022. Written, produced and mastered in "Oma's Keller", the band shows that their heads are anything but empty.
