The performance PASKUDNIK and the film screening FILIPKA will be followed by a panel discussion on ECHOES OF THE EAST - ON QUEER RESILIENCE FROM BIAŁYSTOK TO LEIPZIG, SOLIDARITY BEYOND NATIONAL BORDERS & NON BINARY JOY with a burlesque closing.
Białystok, Bautzen, Leipzig - what connects these places? These are cities and communities where queer activists organize Pride events and face strong backlash from far-right groups and fascists. Whether small or large, these communities often struggle against growing anti-queer and far-right groups. But queer people are not giving up. They are creating networks of solidarity and building structures to resist violence.
How do they deal with life after surviving the waves of anti-queer and anti-trans violence that have swept through Europe and the world in recent years? How do they maintain their resilience? How do queer spaces persist? How do they organize? How do they break through the binary and reclaim the streets with joy and defiance?
Together with the invited activists and artists from Poland and Saxony, we want to discuss their strategies and challenges and how networks of solidarity can be built across national borders.
Before the panel discussion, the film screening FILIPKA and the performance PASKUDNIK will also take place at LOFFT.
