The live exhibition ECHOES explores the digital through the human body. Our bodies are our primary interface to a world that is increasingly interwoven into virtual and physical realities. The third edition of ECHOES is dedicated to language and play. Like a sound wave reflecting off a distant surface and reverberating across different locations, ECHOES spans a thematic arc between the exhibitions at Haus der Kunst.
In 2022, ECHOES was dedicated to embodied memories, while the 2023 live exhibition explored human and non-human forms of intelligence. In January 2025, ECHOES explores how we communicate and create meaning under the title "Plot Twist". Human language is only part of the story, with non-human voices adding unpredictable layers of meaning. Transformative multimedia performances, music and lectures explore the digital beyond the screen. This edition will feature artists Anansi's Web (Curtly Thomas & Nelta Kasparian), Invernomuto, Layton Lachman and Pavel Milyakov, among others.
Anansi's Web's performance is a co-production with Roskilde Festival; Layton Lachman's performance is supported by the Goethe Institut London. The project by Invernomuto is made possible by the Italian Council program (2024).
Curated by Sarah Theurer and Sarah Miles with Laila Wu.
Further information on the program and tickets will be available soon on the Haus der Kunst website.
