Ecocycle

In the organizer's words:

The exhibition features seven artists from Germany, China and Korea and explores universal themes such as ecology, humanity and cultural connectedness. Ecocycle unites contrasting elements - light and darkness, city and nature, water and earth, rationality and irrationality - in harmonious artistic expressions. The selected artists, representing different generations and cultural influences, combine traditional and modern techniques to take a fresh look at our shared world.

This collaboration reflects the commitment of KORNFELD and SEOJUNG ART to promote intercultural dialog and create a cyclical exchange of artistic perspectives. The exhibition serves as a platform for Korean and international artists to transcend boundaries and engage in meaningful discourse.

The participating artists are Jungwon Phee (*1993), Gee Song (*1980), Chounhwan Lee (*1956), Yeonhwa Hur (*1988), Nanan Kang (*1979), Jay Gard (*1984) and Rao Fu (*1978). The title of the exhibition, Ecocycle, is a fusion of the terms "eco" (ecology) and "cycle" and refers to both environmental science and basic human needs.

This exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts Management Service.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Jungwon Phee (*1993): A contemporary Korean artist who often creates surreal depictions of nature. His works combine traditional Korean influences with modern, often abstract elements, using vibrant colors and detailed compositions to enhance the emotional depth of his subjects.

Gee Song (*1980): A Korean artist who explores the relationship between humans, nature and technology through minimalist and poetic works, including paintings and installations. Her meditative works invite us to reflect on time, transience and the beauty of everyday details.

Chounhwan Lee (*1956): A Korean artist whose paintings are inspired by nature and abstractly depict elements such as mountains, water, light and wind to create mental and physical tranquility.

Yeonhwa Hur (*1988): Her works, which deal with the fluidity of water, include sculptures, screen prints and paintings. Hur combines seemingly disjointed objects and stories to depict the transparency and movement of her medium.

Nanan Kang (*1979): She creates art that focuses on community and sharing with projects such as "Long Long Time Flower". Her paper flowers symbolize prosperity and happiness and gain new meanings through changing locations.

Jay Gard (*1984): A German artist who uses geometric shapes and vibrant colors to create sculptures, installations and wall objects that address the dialogue between space and perception.

Rao Fu (*1978): A Chinese artist living in Germany whose multi-layered paintings combine traditional Chinese art with Western expressionism and modern symbolism.
