Ecstatic Dance

Dear dance community,

On Sunday, May 11, our next Ecstatic Dance will take place in Frankfurt - this time we will be back in Rödelheim. We are really looking forward to filling the FTG sports garden with great music and movement.

As a special guest and DJ we have a real highlight this year:

El Batos

Jorma aka El Batos is a DJ, spaceholder and creative soul.

He has been helping to organize events for almost ten years - from club nights and festivals to more conscious formats.

In recent years, he has traveled extensively in Germany and has made a name for himself with his carefully crafted downtempo sets and characteristic sound.

Ecstatic Dance has opened up a whole new level for him - here he can make music work in a completely unique way. Every set is also a journey for him, where it's about going with the flow, making real emotions tangible and moving people - both physically and internally.

What you can expect from his sets:

El Batos loves diversity - and this is exactly what is reflected in his Ecstatic Dance sets.

Stylistically, he moves between ambient, world, healing sounds, hip-hop, downtempo, house, melodic techno, breaks, DnB and sometimes psytrance.

It's less about genres and more about mood - sometimes driving, sometimes playful, sometimes deep or with a lot of pressure. Always in such a way that a real flow builds up and space is created in which you can move freely and genuinely.

Let's dance it out - in our very own way.

Doors Close: 18:00
End approx. 21:00

Please be on time - because Doors Close at 6pm means that we won't let anyone in after 6pm so that we can start our opening circle without being disturbed.

Procedure:

As always, we start together in a circle and together we open up the space that we will fill with our movement and the expression of our being. Basically, a few universal agreements apply to Ecstatic Dance:

• We dance sober and without the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants
• We refrain from speaking during the music
• We are mindful of each other and respect the boundaries of the other dancers
• We dance barefoot or with socks

After the opening circle, there will be a warm-up to help us arrive at ourselves and the space. We will then move on to the 2-hour music and dance journey.

As always, we will provide snacks and tea for you - feel free to bring your water bottle and optionally a cup.
