Ecstatic Dance

Dear dance community,

On Friday, April 25, our next Ecstatic Dance will take place in Frankfurt - this time we'll be back at our favorite location in the heart of the city! We are really looking forward to filling the "Haus der Volksarbeit" in Frankfurt's city center with great music and movement.

We are delighted that our dear co-founder Jasmina will be providing the music for the dance journey:

DJ aritea

Jasmina is a passionate dancer, her origins go back to the raver times of the 90s. She also started DJing during this time and was one of the first female DJs to play in bars and clubs in the Frankfurt area, also across genres from techno to house, funk & soul, trip hop and drum & bass.

When she discovered ecstatic dance for herself in 2020, a whole new, even more diverse musical space opened up and she began playing her first sets as an ecstatic dance DJ at festivals in Portugal. Her love of ecstatic dance almost automatically led to her meeting Luki and Sven and the three of them founding the Ecstatic069 collective in Frankfurt, with whom they have now been organizing ecstatic dances in the Frankfurt area for around 3 years.

Jasminas sets are a colorful mixture of different genres, a journey through emotions, a touch of dreaminess and fantasy, paired with bass-heavy energy and full of surprises!

Doors Close: 19:00
End approx. 22:15

Please be on time - because Doors Close at 7pm means that we won't let anyone in after 7pm so that we can start our opening circle without being disturbed.

Procedure:

As always, we start together in a circle and open the space together, which we will fill with our movement and the expression of our being. Basically, a few universal agreements apply to Ecstatic Dance:

• We dance sober and without the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants
• We refrain from speaking during the music
• We are mindful of each other and respect the boundaries of the other dancers
• We dance barefoot or with socks

After the opening circle, there will be a warm-up to help us arrive at ourselves and the space. We will then move on to the approx. 2-hour music and dance journey.

Finally, we will sing together to land gently and round off the evening.

As always, we will provide snacks and tea for you - feel free to bring your water bottle and optional cup.
