An event organized by the Eimsbüttel district office

The Eimsbüttel climate team of the district office invites you to a special hands-on event in WehbersPark. Bring your flower boxes and pots and we will give you two free insect-friendly plants and peat-free soil per person to fill them with. We want to inspire you for nature-oriented greening in late summer and show you how easy it can be to contribute to the protection of insects and biodiversity - directly on your own balcony, windowsill or front garden.

NABU Eimsbüttel, Moin Stadtnatur of the Loki Schmidt Foundation, the Hamburg regional group of NaturGarten e.V. and the "Abpflastern Hamburg" initiative will be taking part! Look forward to great tips on nature-oriented gardening, green sponsorships, creating a wildflower meadow and the city-wide "Abpflaster" campaign. You can try out small urban nature projects at interactive stations. You can build your own nesting and climbing aids, spin the wheel of fortune and win small nature-friendly prizes. There are craft activities for children to bring Hamburg's greenery to life on paper.

Together with the initiatives from Eimsbüttel, we want to set an example for more biodiversity and urban nature in the district. We want to show that species conservation is also possible in densely built-up areas. That is why all the plants have been selected so that they still serve as a source of food for insects in the fall months and make the transition to the cold season easier. Vegan snacks and drinks from the Geen Café will be available on site to keep us well fed.

Please note: Flower boxes and pots are not provided and must be brought along. Plants and soil are available while stocks last!
