A German girl - public rehearsal
based on the autobiography of the same name by Heidi Benneckenstein
In the early 90s, in the deepest Bavarian province. Heidi grows up in a family that appears unremarkable and middle-class on the outside. But appearances are deceptive: Heidi's father is a staunch neo-Nazi who uses a handphone instead of a cell phone and considers authority more important than affection. He regularly sends Heidi to right-wing vacation camps. There she learns, for example, to sing all three verses of the Deutschlandlied and to make a fretwork of the German Reich within the borders of 1937. At school, the two worlds collide and force Heidi to lead a kind of double life.
An insider's account that provides very personal insights into a hermetic parallel world and, despite its unsparing portrayal of all the obstacles and dangers, encourages people to go their own way.
The public rehearsal offers a foretaste of our upcoming premiere "Ein deutsches Mädchen". Selected scenes from the production will provide the first exciting insights that will whet your appetite for more. Afterwards, we cordially invite you to exchange ideas with the actors and the director and welcome praise and criticism.
