No ordinary storm

A man wanders through the night of a dark, inhospitable world. The storm drives him on. He is driven by a nameless inner restlessness and a stubbornness that forbids him to be unhappy. Memories emerge, blur and sweep him away. He reflects on his lost love and the value of the past. The boundaries between despair and action become blurred, while his longing for redemption leads to a desperate act. An intense monologue about the restlessness of the human soul.

The tragedy of a driven man unfolds in haunting words and music that allows for both silence and movement. Love, Loss, Defiance - No Ordinary Storm is a musicalized monologue about a heart running against itself.

Gentle music pervades the sections of thought and attempts to soothe the troubled mind.

With Kein gewöhnlicher Sturm, composer Noel Riedel creates an intimate poetry between music and language. His work operates at the interface between classical and contemporary aesthetics and combines agitated lyricism with subtle, atmospheric chamber music. An evening about what remains when something fades away. Haha, okay, that sounds a bit much now. But it will be good.
