From March 12 to April 19, 2025, fairies, goblins and lovers will once again be cavorting in the enchanted summer forest at the Düsseldorf Marionette Theater.

Shakespeare's comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is a confusing love story full of linguistic wit. With its multitude of fantastic characters, the play is perfect for puppet theater.

The production with the famous incidental music by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in the German translation by Frank Günther is a real theater experience for adults and children aged 10 and over: Shakespeare's classic is brought to the marionette stage in a way that is as fantastic as it is lively and original.

The story: Helena loves Demetrius, but Demetrius loves Hermia, but Hermia loves only Lysander and flees with him into the forest, followed by Demetrius and Helena. But the four of them are not alone.
Five clumsy craftsmen try their hand at acting in the "tragic comedy of Pyramus and Thisbe".
The fairy king Oberon and his goblin Puck get involved, and a series of mix-ups and entanglements ensue.
