Didier Eribon, celebrated author ("Return to Reims"), philosopher and sociologist, goes in search of clues in his recently published latest essay.

In search of traces of his mother, who, having just moved into a retirement home, suddenly passes away. He, the son and author, had actually wanted to visit her there more often. But now he begins his search for her past in writing: for life, old age and death.

Eribon confronts us with our own suppression of the life situation of old people and death, he shows in a sensitive way how important our own family history is for our lives. In doing so, he delves into and reveals the life of his mother, a life in the French working class, in a complex and careful way.

It is the reconstruction of a life that had to limit itself to dreams, even though his mother would have loved to become a racing driver.

For all people aged 15 and over who want to take up the resistance in order to counter structural grievances.
