Eribon tells the story of his mother who, having become frail, has to move into a retirement home. After a short time, she passes away. He, the son and author, had actually wanted to visit her there more often. In this text, Eribon relentlessly exposes the extent to which politics and society have long suppressed the scandalous situation of many old people at the end of their lives. The philosopher and sociologist also unfolds a portrait of the French working class milieu - with its concerns, its solidarity, its prejudices. Together with citizens and actors, Weise will realize a choral project for the city based on this text. It will take place where work is created: in zufall.lab, an industrial hall in Weststadt.
