Eine Feier für Jürgen Ploog: Ploog, West End

Jürgen Ploog (1935-2020) was the great solitaire of the German underground, a leading actor on the unknown fringes of the literary scene. For decades, he was an advocate and pioneer of a literature whose consciousness could keep pace with the transformations of the living world. He was already a legend in the literary scene during his lifetime. However, the general public, the established literary establishment, never really took notice of him.

To mark the 5th anniversary of his death, Edition W. is publishing the book Ploog, West End, in which companions remember him, which presents previously unpublished material from his estate and which now offers the opportunity to (re)discover a great, unknown author.

We want to celebrate the publication of the book: the author Wolf Wondratschek will read texts by Jürgen Ploog. Afterwards, Martina Weber, Klaus Maeck, David Ploog and Ralf-Rainer Rygulla will discuss the Frankfurt avant-gardist in a panel discussion moderated by Rainer Weiss. And afterwards we'll be partying with DJ Shantel.
