To mark the anniversary of the assassination attempt on July 20, 1944, the themed tour focuses on forms of resistance against National Socialism. Objects are presented that show how various groups attempted to make violent crimes visible. The focus is on pictures and documents that show the Holocaust from different perspectives. These include works by the artist Ludwig Meidner, who created harrowing depictions of the Litzmannstadt ghetto uprising based on reports while in exile in London. Another example is the exhibition in Bergen-Belsen, which shows how Jewish survivors used a perpetrators' building to create their own new culture of remembrance. The tour invites visitors to reflect on resistance in all its diversity on the one hand and on the question of how violence can be documented, shown and understood on the other.
