Innovative paths for classical music

Prominent representatives of the cultural scene discuss what "classical music" means today - and what unconventional paths are being taken. These include experiments in concert design, strategies for participation, innovative organizational structures and networks between institutions - topics that the Beethovenfest is promoting together with five music festivals in the Federal Cultural Foundation's "tuned - Network for Contemporary Classical Music" funding programme. Moderated by journalist Leonie Reineke, Katarzyna Wielga-Skolimowska, Artistic Director of the German Federal Cultural Foundation, and artists who are rethinking classical music will speak: dramaturge Hannah Baumann, current Fellowship artist at the Beethovenfest, and Anselm Dalferth, who integrates interdisciplinary and mediating practice into his projects. Ewa Bogusz-Moore, the designated director of the Kölner Philharmonie, is also starting to renew her institution - the discussion promises exciting insights into the transformation of the classical music scene.
