Einweihung des Gedenkortes für die Leipziger Meuten auf dem Lindenauer Markt

As part of the SOUNDS OF RESISTANCE project, a permanent memorial to the Leipzig Meuten is being created on Lindenauer Markt

As a result of an initiative by the Leipzig Youth Parliament, the Leipzig City Council decided back in 2022 that a memorial to the Leipzig mobs should be created on Lindenauer Markt. As part of the SOUNDS OF RESISTANCE project, Kollektiv Plus X, in collaboration with the TDJW, has now developed a concept for this memorial site, which is intended to make the memory of the Leipzig mobs present in the urban space and at the same time bring the voices of young people from then and now into the public space. On April 24, we want to celebrate the opening of this memorial site together with representatives of the Youth Parliament, the City of Leipzig and the Foundation Remembrance Responsibility and Future.
Directly afterwards, the premiere of our Wilde Bühne production MEUTEN MEMORIAL MOVEMENT will take place, in which Schorsch Kamerun will perform together with young people from Leipzig and members of the TDJW ensemble on the Lindenau market about youth culture, non-conformity and resistance.
