CHILEK likes to open itself up to new musical influences and impulses. This promises variety and an always fresh listening experience. "Staying flexible and changeable - that's what matters to us," say Mathias Hecht (singer and actor) and Lars Wege (drummer). Having recorded their debut album with cellist Ludger Schmidt, they can now be heard in changing constellations. These diverse and stylistically different influences give CHILEK's music a different emphasis and coloration each time, allowing the sound spaces to constantly shine anew. Sometimes in pairs in a reduced but no less attractive version with guitar and drums, with a 6-piece line-up, or every possible variation in between.

Summer at the U

Free and outdoors. Every year from June to August, the forecourt of the Dortmunder U is transformed into a festival stage. Thanks to the tried-and-tested "made by many" concept, there is something for pretty much every taste - whether live music from folk & indie to pop & rock to hip hop, punk and jazz. Poetry slams or readings, electronic DJ sets or record evenings.
