EL POSTRE & Tigerjunge

EL POSTRE is an alternative crossover band from Kamp-lintfort with German lyrics. Their songs are often socio-critical and thought-provoking, but that doesn't mean that El Postre doesn't also use humor and a pinch of self-irony to keep listeners entertained. The sound serves several genres. From rock, rap and punk to banging beats, almost everything is included. The men from the Lower Rhine have been making music for over 25 years. The new single "Mein Freund" is available now.

In view of the state of our world, TIGERJUNGE, the old masters of one-sentence lyrics (Einsatz-Lyrik?), provide the soundtrack for the brain-wrenching ups and downs, the hope and fear, the confidence and despair, the heat and the floods of rain that are currently driving many people out of their minds: TOD UND SPIELE - a programmatic ambivalence that explains why two self-confessed Buddhists, who are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, are making industrial-punk-noise-trash-metal-house of all things.

TOD UND SPIELE, TIGERJUNGE's third album, is at times industrial and reminiscent of NINE INCH NAILS, REVOLTING COCKS or KMFDM, then gentle echoes of more recent works by New York no wave legends SWANS (Schlangen im Haar) float through the ear only to be captured by PRODIGY-like breakbeats (GEISTERHAUS). TIGERJUNGE's references are manifold and so even die-hard metal listeners can warm up to the single HAND IN HAND and admire their likeness headbanging in front of the mirror.

It's safe to say that this band should actually be from Brooklyn, but since they are from Germany, they are of course from Bochum, the Brooklyn of the Federal Republic.
