Eröffnung "el sol que me vio nacer" - Maria Renee Morales Garcia

In the organizer's words:

The installation developed by Renee for Hansa 12 consists of new woven works and frottages paired with other fabrics and texts. As a rule, it is questions that Renee deals with during the production of her works that then reappear in them: How did I get here? How far can I flow? Why does the ground I stand on influence the way I am? El sol que me vio nacer, which roughly translates as "the sun under which I was born", is an invitation to question one's own identity in the here and now. The background is Renee's preoccupation with different aspects of systems of oppression, from the various levels of colonialism to present-day capitalism.

Renee studied at the Kunstakademie Münster and lives in the Ruhr area.
