It's International Women's Day and this year it's particularly important to us to give this occasion space and share it with you with a moving story as part of a community event.

On 05.03.2025 we invite you to a film event: Come to Eldorado from 19:45, the official start of the event is at 20:15 and around 20:30 we will start with a special screening of the touching film Elaha. Afterwards we are looking forward to a joint exchange about the film, accompanied by music by GG VYBE and a cozy bar evening at the cinema bar. We look forward to seeing you there!

Elaha is the first film by Milena Aboyan and tells the moving story of 22-year-old Elaha, who believes she has to restore her innocence shortly before her wedding. Constantly confronted with the rules of the Kurdish community, she begins to question this cultural code: Why and for whom does she actually have to be a virgin? And why can't she simply decide her own sexuality?

22-year-old German-Kurdish Elaha is engaged. As the wedding approaches, she is increasingly confronted with the expectations of those around her. Torn between unconditional love for her family and the desire for a self-determined life, she has to make a difficult decision. (Source: distributor)
