Kosmokörper proposes to rethink the connections between inside and outside, part and whole, body and cosmos and to search for an experience of ecology that takes place within us. Elisabete Finger's choreography invites the audience on a cosmic-anatomical journey through the interior of the human body. It is a dance of organs, systems and physiological processes such as breathing, digestion, excretion, illness, healing, dreaming, ageing and dying.
The choreography sets the body's activities in motion and allows them to emerge. What happens when we encounter organs that have merged with plants and animals or breaths that take the form of clouds or whirlwinds? Are there cavities inside us that resemble black holes in space or liquids that flow like rivers? Do we also see garbage, plastic, waste there? What if we realize that we are feverish as the climate changes, and we are fading as terrestrial landscapes disappear?
Kosmokörper premiered at fabrik Potsdam in September 2024 and will be coming to Munich in May 2025 as part of explore dance festival#6 for young audiences.
