MISS FLOWER - the new album by Emilíana Torrini - begins with a box full of love letters. Dozens, from all over the world, written to one woman: Geraldine Flower. After the death of her close friend Zoe's mother, Torrini discovers this treasure - and begins to make music from it.

"She had nine marriage proposals, but never got married," says Torrini. The letters tell of obsession, charm and adventures - such as a night-time walk through cemeteries with a lion cub. Torrini developed an album from these stories and characters over two years together with her long-time companion Simon Byrt - inspired by real life and fictional interpretation. Each song sounds different, each tells a new episode.

Triphop, electronic pop landscapes, Caribbean rhythms and intimate recitations alternate. Whether it's the hypnotic "Black Water", the danceable "Lady K" or the duet "Let's Keep Dancing", which is based on an old song by Geraldine's ex - MISS FLOWER interweaves biography and fiction in a playful, experimental way. Shortly before the end, Zoe even finds a love poem by her mother - which Torrini adds her own part to.

MISS FLOWER is Emilíana Torrini's first solo album in ten years. It tells of love, desire and independence - and is also a monument to an extraordinary woman and a tribute to female self-determination, friendship and fantasy.

Bríet

Bríet is an award-winning Icelandic singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Her music combines introspective lyrics with danceable pop and is characterized by emotional depth, stylistic diversity and an unmistakable voice. With great artistic control, she designs her music videos, costumes and the visual concept of her releases herself - Bríet is not just a musician, but an overall creative visionary.

With her debut album Kveðja, Bríet won several Icelandic Music Awards in 2021, including "Album of the Year", "Female Vocalist of the Year" and "Lyricist of the Year". This was followed in 2025 by another award for "Album of the Year", this time together with artist Björn.

Bríet is known for her charismatic live performances, her closeness to the audience and her ability to make big emotions tangible - whether in quiet ballads or pulsating pop. In addition to music, she is also active as an actress and visual artist.

With her flair for stories and emotions, Bríet is one of Iceland's most exciting artists - and is on the verge of touching an international audience.

"I love the color yellow, people who laugh and flowers. I was 17 when I released my first EP - and all my songs are about love in some way."
