Ensslin fragments - Based on the novel "Erzählung zur Sache" by Stephanie Bart

Gudrun Ensslin's radicalization process with the RAF in the 1970s is still controversially discussed and reflected upon today due to its political and social impact. In her novel "Erzählung zur Sache" (2023), Stephanie Bart revives this highly explosive period of West German history from the perspective of Gudrun Ensslin, providing a powerful template for an intense evening of theater - also thanks to the density and rhythm of the text.

Together with actress Susanne Jansen, the production team has set itself the appealing task of bringing Gudrun Ensslin's constant state of struggle and emergency as well as the constant urgency of the moment to life on stage.
