Entdeckt Berlin! Naturnah gärtnern

PICK OF THE DAY
You cannot miss this event.
In the organizer's words:

Allotment gardens and balconies are green oases in the middle of the concrete of the city. But in recent years, climatic changes have also had an impact here. On our Future Day in the Märchenland allotment garden site, we want to find out together with you how we can garden sustainably in the future.

Strawberries, tomatoes and fragrant lavender: small gardens are not only for recreation and self-sufficiency, but also bring a piece of nature into everyday life. However, climatic changes are also making themselves felt here: Drought, persistent heat and milder winters are changing soils, growth and cultivation periods. We have to adapt to these changes.

On our Future Day in the Märchenland allotment garden site, we will take a look at the latest findings on gardening in our region with our experts from research and practice. We want to find out what strategies we will need in Berlin and Brandenburg in the future. How can we protect the soil and achieve good harvests at the same time? And can small gardens even improve the urban climate?

The following prompt was used: A vibrant, high-resolution photograph of a lush, well-maintained garden in full bloom. The garden is filled with a variety of flowers as well as green leafy plants and vegetables. The foreground is densely packed with leafy greens, while the background features a small, quaint garden shed with a white exterior and a dark brown door. The garden is surrounded by a wooden fence, and the ground is covered in a mixture of dirt and gravel paths. The sky is clear.
