Cycle of Bayanihan
For MTB pro athlete Samantha Soriano, the Philippines are much more than just the next bike destination: the US native has never been to the country where her roots lie. With her bike and many unanswered questions in her luggage, Samantha sets off for her father's homeland and finds not one but two families there - her own relatives and a growing bike community.

To The Sea
"On this trip, the rain knows no end" - but neither do the two Londoners Ben and Hugo. In 2013, the two decided to travel to Sorsele in Sweden to build their raft "Melissa" out of Euro pallets and canisters. Their wild construction took them down the even wilder Vindelälven, through rapids, thunderstorms and narrow passages towards the sea.
What was planned as a two-week trip turns into a six-year expedition in stages. Year after year, Ben and Hugo travel back with their ukuleles "Red" and "Blue", despite all the shipwrecks, cold fronts and mosquitoes.

Keep it Burning
"When your father is there, it's the best kick in the ass!"
Perhaps that's why Catalan climbing pro Edu Marín takes his 70-year-old father on an expedition to the Karakoram. Together with his brother Alex, the trip to the Trango Towers becomes a real family affair. After 13 years, Edu wants to get the "Eternal Flame" route on the Nameless Tower burning again. A route steeped in history: established in 1989 by the sport's luminaries Wolfgang Güllich and Kurt Albert, the brothers Alexander and Thomas Huber managed the first redpoint ascent of Eternal Flame.
Keep it Burning, however, shows that the greatest challenge for the family rope team is not climbing, but the capers of Mother Nature.

Ebony Peaks

A FLINTA* rope team and their first four-thousander: five people stand two hundred meters below the summit of the Bishorn in Switzerland. They have to make a difficult decision: Is it time to give up or keep fighting their way up?

Filmmaker Tsellot Melesse has founded Black Canary, a FLINTA* community for people of color, and wants to give her crew from Berlin the opportunity to discover the high mountains and climb many meters for the first time in their lives. So together with Maria, Helen and Hanna, they set off for the Bishorn (4,151 m). But as the saying goes: it's not an adventure unless something goes wrong.

*FLINTA* is a German acronym and stands for women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender people. It is used to make visible and include people who experience discrimination because of their gender identity or gender expression.
