An exploration of the sonic and visual universe of Eraserhead!
In 2016, with the blessing of David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti, Xiu Xiu released the surprisingly successful album Plays the Music of Twin Peaks and took it on tour. Out of respect and reverence for the beloved series, the band decided to end the concert project in 2018. However, following the recent and much too untimely death of David Lynch, the band received several significant requests to revive their interpretation of this iconic music. But in an effort to follow the exceptionally high artistic standards of David Lynch, to pay tribute to him and to continue to be inspired by him, Xiu Xiu instead goes even deeper.
ERASERHEAD XIU XIU is a new live concert and accompanying film that uses field recordings, custom-built instruments, organ, modular synthesizers, vocals, flashlights, electrical interventions and elements of musique concrète to express the bizarre emotionality, contradictory sexuality, relentless darkness and uniquely disturbing moonscape of this most incredible of midnight masterpieces.
