Since 2022, the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Mülheimer Künstlerinnen und Künstler e.V. (Mülheim Artists' Association) has held an annual exhibition in spring with a changing theme featuring works that were predominantly created using traditional printing techniques. The occasion for the exhibition is the "Day of Printmaking", on March 15, 2018, traditional printing techniques were included in the German UNESCO Commission's nationwide list of intangible cultural heritage. The 2025 exhibition has a special theme. Within the space of a year, Mülheim's artistic community has lost two outstanding artists who worked intensively with printmaking techniques throughout their lives: Jochen Leyendecker passed away in March 2024 and Uwe Dieter Bleil in September 2024. Both artists had still taken part in the 2024 printmaking exhibition "The Elegance of Black and White". In the "ERINNERUNG" exhibition, we would like to pay tribute to both artists and present a selection of their prints, and at the same time we had also called on many colleagues from the Mülheim artists' community to take part in the exhibition. On display are some works by Uwe Dieter Bleil and Jochen Leyendecker as well as works by Barbara Adamek, Atti Attilerie, Michael Dahlke, Hermann EsRichter, Peter Flach, Marianne Goldbach, Martin Goppelsröder, Peter Helmke, Vera Herzogenrath, Jan Homeyer, Rainer Komers, Helmut Kottkamp, Marlies Liekfeld-Rapetti, RonA Nekes, Joachim Poths, Tubahan Riedel, Sabrina Seppi, Heiner Schmitz, Klaus Urbons, Natalija Usakova, Ursula Vehar, Imre Vidék. A comprehensive catalog will be published, sponsored by Sparkasse Mülheim an der Ruhr. The exhibition is sponsored by the Cultural Office of the City of Mülheim an der Ruhr.
