Eröffnung der Bamberger Poetikprofessur 2025: Alina Bronsky liest aus "Pi mal Daumen"

How can a special friendship develop where insurmountable opposites meet?

In her latest novel "Pi mal Daumen" (2024), the renowned author and this year's Bamberg Poetry Professor Alina Bronsky explores this question. As part of the opening of the Poetry Professorship, which the Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg is organizing for the first time in cooperation with the city of Bamberg in 2025, Bronsky will be a guest at the ETA Hoffmann Theater for a reading from the novel.

The work was named "Favorite Book of Independent Bookstores 2024" and tells the story of the unusual friendship between the highly gifted 16-year-old Oscar and 53-year-old Moni, who secretly wants to fulfill her dream of studying math.

In a discussion with the organizer, Professor Andrea Bartl, Alina Bronsky will give insights into her work in addition to her reading from the novel. The evening will be accompanied by music from pupils of the Bamberg Municipal Music School. The evening opens the Bamberg Poetry Professorship 2025.
