Melissa Perales (DURCHLÜFTEN curator) and Hartmut Dorgerloh (General Director of the Humboldt Forum) welcome you to this year's DURCHLÜFTEN festival. For the opening, the Nigerian poet in residence Logan February will read a long poem created especially for the festival.

LoganFebruary's works explore Afro-queer diasporic auto-ethnography, psycho-spiritual eroticism and the mythology of the Yorùbá. February is the author of Nude Imperative (Spector Books, 2025) and In The Nude (Ouida Poetry, 2019). Logan February's poems have been translated into several languages. February was editor-in-chief at Sycamore Review and edited Queering the Nigerian Divine. Among others, February was awarded the Future Awards Africa Prize for Literature and was a fellow of Cave Canem, LCB Berlin and the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program. Mental Voodoo (Engeler Verlage/Poesie Dekolonie, 2024) in the translation by Christian Filips is the first German-language edition of Logan February's poems.

February is currently poet in residence at the Humboldt Forum.

Free, outdoors and under palm trees: this summer, the DURCHLÜFTEN music festival will once again transform the Humboldt Forum's large Schlüterhof courtyard into a lively meeting place for sound, rhythm and culture.

Over four weekends, music from all over the world will radiate from the stage: from the raw energy of Mexican cumbia punk to the hypnotic groove of Kenyan dodo blues, from the electrifying syncopation of Congolese soukous to the powerful messages of Afrofuturist big bands. Japanese folk with a Caribbean influence, soulful jazz, hip-hop and the joy and resilience of the Frafra gospel round off this celebration of sound - boundless, multi-perspective and irresistibly danceable!
