Museum Brandhorst cordially invites you to the opening of the exhibition "Five Friends. John Cage, Merce Cunningham, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly".

For the first time, Museum Brandhorst is focusing on a group of artists who had a decisive influence on post-war art in music, dance, painting, sculpture and drawing. John Cage, Merce Cunningham, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg and Cy Twombly created a special connection between the artistic genres and media through their intimate exchange.

With over 180 works of art as well as scores, stage props, costumes, photographs and archival material, the exhibition provides an insight into the interplay between the five artist friends. The Museum Brandhorst is thus also shedding new light on Cy Twombly's work, which forms a central focus of the collection.
