We cordially invite you, your families and friends to our exhibition opening
on February 20, 2025 at 5 pm
Afterwards you will have the opportunity to view the exhibition and exchange ideas over music and drinks.
The history of computer games can be told from different perspectives. One common - and fairly straightforward - story is about rapid technological progress, from the arcade machines of the 1970s/80s to the latest games consoles and gaming PCs. Another story tells the success story of a global games industry, the rise of Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft. Another story brings together the most popular game characters - Super Mario, Lara Croft or Pikachu - or leads along the milestones of computer game development, from Pong and Pac-Man to Half-Life and Halo to Grand Theft Auto and God of War.
In addition to these 'grand narratives', the exhibition also aims to show other computer game stories. It is about aberrations and detours, curiosities, hybrids and missing links, parallels and intersections with other media histories.
