EsRAP Konzert

In the organizer's words:

Siblings Esra and Enes Özmen together form an Austrian hip hop duo whose partly German and partly Turkish lyrics deal with the topics of identity, racism and growing up with a migrant background. They grew up in the Viennese district of Ottakring and call their band EsRap. Among other things, they address the issue of being a foreigner in one's own country and resist the male-dominated hip hop world. Contrary to the classic stereotypes of gender roles, Esra takes on the dominant part of the fast rhymes in her songs, while her brother Enes convinces with his sensitive voice in the melodic vocal parts.

The concert is part of the SOLIDARITY IN MEMORY AND REMEMBRANCE 2025 series.
February 19, 2025 marks the 5th anniversary of the right-wing terrorist attack in Hanau. What has changed since then? How has it been remembered and by whom since then, how could or should remembrance work change, also against the backdrop of current political crises and trends? We would like to address these questions in discussions and artistic debates, initiated and curated by Ülkü Süngün.
