Mezzo-soprano Lea Desandre, lutenist Thomas Dunford and his enthusiastic Ensemble Jupiter were celebrated for their performance of works by John Dowland and Henry Purcell at last year's Musikfest guest appearance in the Lilienthal monastery church. For the upcoming Glocke debut, this dream team of early music remains true to the Anglo-Saxon repertoire with its program "Eternal Heaven". With a representative selection from George Frideric Handel's English oratorios and semi-operas, they masterfully harmonize the secular and the sacred, the calm and the stormy, the opulent and the refined. In this way, the emotional depth, dramatic intensity and majestic power of Handel's timeless music can be experienced at first hand. In combination with the dense atmosphere of the spherical sounds of Ensemble Jupiter, Lea Desandre's glowing temperament and the precious timbre of her versatile and colorful mezzo-soprano guarantee heavenly melodiousness.
