Lonely adventurers, free solos, athletic solo runs

- common buzzwords in outdoor movies. Family, on the other hand? But the EOFT wouldn't be the EOFT if it didn't show adventure from all perspectives of life.

In the film Cycle of Bayanihan, US-born professional mountain biker Sam Soriano not only sets off in search of the traces of her Filipino family history, but also leaves her very own with her bike. In Keep it Burning, Edu Marín tells the story of a family expedition with his brother and father on the Trango "Nameless Tower" in the Karakoram Mountains. A route with which another brother and sister - Alexander and Thomas Huber - once wrote EOFT and climbing history. In To the Sea, the two Londoners Ben and Hugo want to reach the Baltic Sea in a two-week trip from Sorsele in Sweden. The whole thing by river and on a Europlate raft. Two weeks turned into six years, the raft became Melissa and the three of them somehow became something of a family. Mountaineering has many facets, but Erik Weihenmayer gives it one more. Erik is an alpinist, has climbed all 8000 meter peaks and is blind. In the film Soundscape, he takes us into the Sierra Nevada to the "Incredible Hulk" and literally into his world of perception.

The 23rd EOFT is special in many ways, above all because it not only wants to leave traces, but all the protagonists are looking for their own personal traces.
