Bio (english below)

Evidence

As a solo artist and one third of Dilated Peoples, Evidence has established himself as one of the most versatile rappers and producers in hip-hop. He has worked with artists such as The Alchemist, Beastie Boys, DJ Premier, Westside Gunn, Linkin Park, Prodigy, Rapsody, Aloe Blacc, Action Bronson as well as his Rhymesayers labelmates - including Slug (of Atmosphere), Sa-Roc and Aesop Rock. He was also awarded a Grammy for co-producing Kanye West's album College Dropout and received two JUNO Awards for other projects.
In addition to four solo albums and a solo EP, he has released five albums with Rakaa Iriscience and DJ Babu as Dilated Peoples and an album with The Alchemist under the name Step Brothers.

In 2021, Evidence founded his own record label Bigger Picture Recordings. The label's first release was his instrumental album Squirrel Tape Instrumentals, Vol. 2, followed by Rule of Thirds by Planet Asia, produced by Evidence himself. Numerous further releases are planned via Bigger Picture Recordings in the coming years - so fans should stay tuned.

Unlearning Vol. 1 is Evidence's latest release via Rhymesayers and showcases his talent as a rapper and producer. The album combines Evidence's own productions with contributions from The Alchemist, Nottz, Sebb Bash, Animoss, Mr. Green, V Don, Daringer, Khrysis and EARDRUM (QThree). This highlights an often underrated strength of Evidence: his ability to work with a variety of producers on a project and still create a cohesive, consistent album - a rarity with so many collaborations. The album's musical backdrop sets the scene, but it's Ev's talent for accessible, yet inventive and clever songwriting that really brings the picture to life and keeps listeners enthralled. The work is also supported by strong guest appearances - including Boldy James, Conway The Machine, Fly Anakin, Navy Blue and Murkage Dave.

Unlearning Vol. 1 is emblematic of artistic expression in its purest form. It captures a moment in time when marketability, sales figures, streaming potential or the desire to please others become secondary. This freedom allowed Evidence to create something special - something that sounds unique while remaining true to its artistic foundation. Ultimately, Unlearning Vol. 1 marks another creative high point in Evidence's career - an album that will excite new listeners while solidifying his existing fan base.

Evidence (english)

As a solo artist and one-third of Dilated Peoples, Evidence has established himself as one of hip-hop's most accomplished rappers and producers, working with The Alchemist, Beastie Boys, DJ Premier, WestsideGunn, Linkin Park, Prodigy, Rapsody, Aloe Blacc, Action Bronson, and Rhymesayers labelmates Slug (of Atmosphere), Sa-Roc and Aesop Rock, among others. He's also earned a Grammy Award for co-production on Kanye's College Dropout and two JUNO Awards for other projects. In addition to 4 solo albums and 1 solo EP, he has also recorded and released five albums together with Rakaa Iriscience and DJ Babu (as Dilated Peoples), and one album with The Alchemist (as Step Brothers).

In 2021, Evidence launched his own record label, Bigger Picture Recordings. His latest album of instrumental tracks, 'Squirrel Tape Instrumentals, Vol. 2,' served as the label's first release. Following that came Planet Asia's Rule of Thirds, produced by Evidence. Bigger Picture Recordings is slated to release many more projects over the coming years, so listeners should stay tuned.

Unlearning Vol. 1 is Evidence's latest release on Rhymesayers showcasing his rap and production skills. The album pairs Evidence's own production with works from The Alchemist, Nottz, Sebb Bash, Animoss, Mr. Green, V Don, Daringer, Khrysis and EARDRUM (QThree). This highlights perhaps an undervalued skill of Ev's-his ability to collaborate with a multitude of producers on a project, while still creating an album with a cohesion and consistency rarely found in such extensive collaboration. While the album's musical soundscape sets the scene, it's Ev's gift for relatable yet inventively clever writing that really paints the picture, continually pulling the listener in. That said, a small but powerful cast of guest appearances also decorate the landscape, courtesy of stellar performances from Boldy James, Conway The Machine, Fly Anakin, Navy Blue, and Murkage Dave.

Unlearning Vol. 1 embodies the sound and feeling of pure artistic expression, capturing a moment in time where marketability, album sales & streaming potential, and the desire to please anyone other than the artist themselves, are all just an afterthought. As one could expect, such freedoms allowed Evidence to tap into something special that sounds engaging and unique, and also remains true to his foundation. In essence, Unlearning Vol. 1 finds Evidence at yet another creative peak, creating a listening experience poised to catch the attention of new listeners while strengthening his core fanbase.
