Examenskonzert - David Tarakona

In the organizer's words:

When hard guitar riffs and aggressive drums from metal meet catchy melodies and honest lyrics from country music, the result is: Heavy Country! The wild genre of David Tarakona.

In 2020, he came to the IfM as a metalhead and began his studies on electric guitar. Here he gradually familiarized himself with country music, studied the typical sounds and licks of Nashville in depth and learned banjo, dobro and pedal steel. These influences blended with his original genre to create exuberant rock music that lyrically covers everything from heartbreak to an ice-cold beer on the front porch.

Country is much more than the cliché-laden image of banjo-playing hillbillies and cowboys riding off into the sunset. It's about passion, adventure and honesty. Real life is hard enough! No need to make up stories. It's about striving for more and taking risks. No one can teach you how to be happy. You have to figure it out for yourself, even if it means suffering painful setbacks. And sometimes it's just about cracking open an ice-cold beer and celebrating life!

So come to the big closing concert at Plektrum am IfM on June 23 and celebrate with us!
